Maddie visit

Corinne, her friend Sarah, and I went for a long weekend in New Jersey. We got to visit New York City and do some shopping. But mostly, I wanted to see my beautiful grandbaby, Madeline Marie Simpson, aka "Maddie cakes". She is a real little doll! At 3 1/2 months, she squeals and smiles. She is just adorable- can't wait to see her again in April for our Disneyworld trip. I miss you already, sweetheart.
I was happy to see Nicholas when we got home- who promptly said "What's that?" as he pointed to the light fixture - which is his new favorite thing. It's the most fun to have these cute grandbabies!

The importance of having lasagna

Dave always wants lasagna and carrot cake for his birthday dinner. This year, for his 60th birthday on December 18th, we decided to take him to an Italian restaurant instead of making his special dinner at home. I was sure they'd have lasagna on the menu, and they did- but they were out of it! We tried again on our anniversary on the 28th at another restaurant- but they were also out of lasagna! I finally made it for him on New Year's Eve! He was so happy I vowed to never try to eat out on his birthday again- I'll always make your favorites for you Dave!!
